"[T]he most informative, exceptionally well
and lovingly designed website" on the net! Frankfurter Allgemeine
Magazin, April 9, 1998
“As somebody who surfs around classical music web
sites in the line of work, I've seen lots of hardcore fan efforts, but I must
admit that this site impresses even me in its single-minded devotion. For the
Meyerbeer enthusiast, the Meyerbeer Fan Club Home Page should be your first and
last stop.”
Seth Williamson, Classical Music Radio Host WVTF
Public Radio, Roanoke, VA
This page is dedicated to Giacomo
Meyerbeer (1791-1864) one of the most famous and successful composers of 19th
century opera and the originator of French Grand Opera, a style imitated by many
other well known composers, including Hector Berlioz, Giuseppe Verdi and
Richard Wagner. Due to the paucity of performances of his operas in the major
and minor opera venues, Meyerbeer's music is not well known today. However, a
group of music lovers who are committed to the resurrection of Meyerbeer's
opera and music have formed the Meyerbeer Fan Club.
The Meyerbeer Fan Club welcomes
new members world-wide. Registered members will receive a full color 100%
cotton "Meyerbeer Lives!" T-shirt (S, M, L or XL), frequent e-mail
updates, and information on discount travel and ticketing to Meyerbeer events.
To join the Meyerbeer Fan Club, please go to the Membership
