See George Loomis review in International Herald Tribune January 18, 2006. Among other wonderful praises of Meyerbeer, he quotes the Milan newspaper as saying this was the most important musical event of 2007. He rightly focusses in on the dueling choruses ("Vedi il legno") as part of Meyerbeerian Grand Opera style -- yet did not fail to mention the great trio ("Giavonetti Cavalier") as highlights. Correct me if I'm wrong, Marco, but wasn't this a joint production with one of the Spanish opera houses? Might we expect to see this somewhere else?
